Dr Alden’s website  www.drtanneralden.com describes naturopathic services:

At the foundation of naturopathic medicine is the healing power of nature. What this means is that we all have an inner ability to heal ourselves, physically and emotionally. To facilitate this healing, the physician thoroughly investigates the root cause of the disease and then looks to nature for the patient’s medicine in order to create an individualized treatment plan.

Though highly trained in alternative approaches like botanical medicine, acupuncture, advanced nutrition, and the therapeutic use of supplementation, NDs are equipped to use specific lab testing like hormone and food allergy tests and detailed physical exams to determine an accurate diagnosis of the presenting condition.

Through all of this, the physician works to teach the patient the necessary tools needed for taking control of their self and finding their inner healer.
