Celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Proud to Be McLeod Productions
Presenting the theatre production of Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr. on March 8, 9 & 10 with 7 p.m. showtimes and a Matinee on March 10 at 1 p.m.
The delicious adventures experienced by Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka’s mysterious chocolate factory light up the stage in this captivating adaptation of Roald Dahl’s fantastical tale. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone’s sweet tooth.
Students, staff, parents and community
Ninety W.L. McLeod students from grades 1 to 6 have been rehearsing since October, 2017 to bring Willy Wonka Jr. to the stage in Vanderhoof. Assisted by staff, parents and community supporters, the elementary school gym will be transformed into a theatre for the production – not an easy task!
Amber Tait and her team are creating costumes, Nancy Bangs and Anna Manwaring and their team are creating the set and props. Jody Soakall is organizing the designs and makeup while Samantha MacKinlay and team will run the front of the house. Michelle Roberge is taking care of publicity while Jay Bangs and Phil Turgeon will run sound and lights.
Parents are assisted by the amazing School District 91 Facilities Department and Kevin Moutray who loans his personal equipment and expertise to Proud to Be McLeod Productions.
The Nechako Valley Secondary School (NVSS) Drama Department and the Vanderhoof Children’s Theatre work cooperatively with W.L. Mcleod, supporting Proud to Be McLeod Productions.

Proud to Be McLeod Productions provides the community with a fun, entertaining show, but more importantly, builds student’s life skills – hard work, perseverance, collaboration, trust, patience, dedication and so much more! Tickets are available at Wallace Studios, Vanderhoof Department Store, W.L. McLeod Office and at the door. Tickets are $5 each or $20/family of 4 or more.
